Dr. Derrick Umansky is a board-eligible neurosurgeon who completed his training at Tulane University and Ochsner Clinic System. During his training, he completed an enfolded fellowship in complex and minimally invasive spinal surgery. Dr. Umansky has special expertise in robotic spinal surgery as Tulane has been a flagship institution in its development. He specializes in the treatment of spinal disorders such as degeneration, disc herniation, scoliosis, spinal deformity, spinal tumors, infection, and revision spinal surgery. In addition, Dr. Umansky has interests in all areas of neurosurgery including treatments for seizure disorders, brain tumors, cerebrovascular disease, peripheral nerve disease, and trauma. He has research interests in helping improve outcome measures and efficiency for patient-family-centered care in the treatment of spinal disorders.
